UPDATE: April 4th – Can really see the release of the iPad in the States driving the iPad spam bots. Previously I had about 1 generic bit of spam a day, now its up to 5 a day all specifically around iPads
Im now up to 40 visits a day, all driven around the PR frenzy on the US iPad release.
Traffic volume is mostly around my domain name terms “buy an ipad”, but the single biggest driver is “ipad competitors list” which is one of the bits of unique, researched content I wrote. I am #2 in the UK for that term and #4 in the US as of today, up with the great and the good of the IT commentator world.

I also decided to add in the Amazon sales widgets. Amazingly easy to use and the Wordpress design is a perfect fit. Its a CPA sales model, which makes a nice counterpoint to the CPC model on the www.purehairstyle.com site.

Will fire up the Twitter account again and see if there is an increase in spam bot followers. I was a bit disappointed in how few there were in the days after the iPad announcement

In the last month Ive had 4 referrals from facebook and I haven’t pushed that channel at all, so its natural.

Its quite hard to keep up enthusiasm for a vanilla ipad website, so going forward will
- write with more personal view- this is important to keep engaged with and interested the site in the long term
- try harder to make articles unique
Having had a chance now to look at all the low quality and opinionless writing about the ipad, even on large and well known sites, there is an opportunity to provide quality
